What To Do In Lapland

If you visit Lapland, you will find that it is a region which gives you many great opportunities to explore the outdoors and to take part in many fun activities that anyone will enjoy. Lapland is located in the northern part of Scandinavia and is a sparsely populated area, so it is away from the distractions of the big cities.

Now what to do in Lapland? The answer to that will vary depending on which season you take your trip to the region. During the winter, one of the most popular activities is to take a husky sled ride. There are many different dog sled trips that are organized in the winter. The shortest ones are basically a sprint of approximately one kilometer. Longer safaris which can take more than a week to complete are also offered, during which you would be staying overnight in wilderness cabins.

Many ski resorts operate in Lapland and provide slopes that are suitable for anyone, from beginner skiers to professionals.

During the summer, visitors to Lapland often engage in hiking. This will give you the opportunity to see the blossoming nature of Lapland in its full beauty. There are many routes and trails that you can take which vary in degrees of difficulty. Remember to enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds you! You can also go camping in one of the national parks, which feature well maintained camping grounds and spots for campfires. It is also possible to book a cabin if you wish to stay overnight but don’t want to sleep outside in a tent.
